In this episode, our guests discuss the group’s focus on the colonial legacy present in international affairs theory and practice and their efforts to provide a space for students interested in learning from a variety of diverse global perspectives. About the Guests

Katie Nodjimbadem is an Academic Analyst at the Africa Center for Strategic Studies. Her research interests include political transitions in West Africa and the Sahel, freedom of the press and democracy, and the information environment in Africa. Prior to joining the Africa Center, Ms. Nodjimbadem served as deputy head of fact checking at The New Yorker and as staff reporter at Smithsonian magazine. She was a 2017-2018 Fulbright grantee in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, where she developed a course on current events and media literacy and volunteered in the US Embassy’s information section. She holds an M.S. in Foreign Service from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and a B.S. in journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
